Definition of Service:
Outpatient Therapy provides medically necessary therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with identified mental health diagnoses. This service is designed to meet the specific mental health needs of the identified individuals as they relate to their diagnosis and can be provided in-home, in-office, in-school, or in another approved/appropriate community setting. Outpatient therapy includes psycho-educational activities/interventions designed to assist the individual with the reduction of dysfunction. Services are provided with trauma-informed, individual-centered, and family-centered approaches and are delivered through goal-specific interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide services and conduct self in a manner consistent with the professional Code of Ethics.
- Assess or provide therapy, counseling, intervention and/or education to clients in a professional manner.
- Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health/diagnostic assessment and treatment plans.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation. Meet audit test requirements.
- Assure continuous reimbursable sessions for assigned clients.
- Fully participate in staff development opportunities offered to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.
- Participate in planned supervision and case consultation conferences. Come prepared with an agenda and keep the supervisor informed.
- Deliver in-office or remote services to individuals as requested by the organization, including the specific hours requested.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to the identified individual in order to enhance and foster the individual’s optimal functioning and interactions in the home and community.
- Continually assess individual needs, service availability, and appropriateness.
- Work cooperatively with treatment team members and the individual/family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the treatment plan, where applicable.
- Provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery, including treatment goals, progress notes, billing, and submit said documentation as specified by payer and organizational standards.
Requirements:
- Be available for approximately 1.25 hours per week per client for service delivery.
- Document and submit recordation of direct service delivery according to payer and organizational standards.
Qualifications:
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Master’s degree in a Mental Health field (e.g.: Social Work, Psychology, Counseling)
- Licensure/Certification or Provisional Licensure/Certification (e.g.: Resident in Counseling)
- Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes
- Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies
- Ability to be flexible, especially with scheduling and site locations to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks
- Internal and external communication and professionalism
